We are not a catch-all, we specialize in working closely with like-minded partners and educators to change lives. Our primary goal is to allow your vision of a trip to come to fruition, providing the support, guidance, and work necessary to pull all the sometimes stressful components together. We understand what it takes and we understand you have enough on your plate.
At Cambio Trips, we understand that our educators have the pulse of their students and can best describe the adventure they need.
Because we come from, live, and work in these communities, we connect with many organizations side by side, with partnerships within multiple communities, so we can find the perfect fit for our visiting groups. We focus on youth, in particular, many of those who may have lost opportunities to explore because of the pandemic. Our vision is to sit down, listen, brainstorm, and then build the perfect international travel experience with our group leaders. At Cambio Trips, we understand that our educators have the pulse of their students and can best describe the adventure they need. We provide 5 areas through which these trips can revolve but also reserve the right to get creative and customize trips based on our endless resources and 20 years of experience.
Education
Education is where we began our groups 20 years ago, so our extensive contacts with both public and private schools (and their communities) are well within our comfort zone. Cambio provides multiple options in terms of itineraries, so our group can work side by side with Dominican youth, always adding value to their curriculum. One of our most important values is to respect and only enhance existing curriculums and classrooms, so these programs will work side by side with our teachers, involving them in the creative process and starting with their needs.
Environment
These days, we are under more pressure than ever to educate the next generation on sustainability and stewardship. Although this almost sounds like a moot point to some, there are so many children and youth who are looking for creative ways to share facts and preserve our planet. Cambio believes deeply in creating interactive projects that will engage and educate, while we always stick to our baseline of intercultural exchange. We build programs that inspire and leave a lasting mark on the communities we serve and our visiting guests.
Culture
Culture is what we LOVE to share. Most of us, if we were lucky, had an experience that showed us another way of living, another perspective on how different groups of people live their lives. Travel is an incredible tool that conveys another way to look through the hourglass culturally. History plays an important role here, as what came before has an inevitable impact on what comes next. Cambio Trips explores this history and the culture it has shaped interactively, allowing our groups to experience the culture firsthand. These are not your grandparent’s tours but walks through real communities and introductions to what makes them shine.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a word that gets thrown around quite a bit but often lacks an authentic, real program behind it. Our partnership with Cabarete Sostenible is a perfect example of communities empowering themselves by coming together and working towards one goal. Cabarete Sostenible is a non-profit providing food relief to the neediest families and developing food sovereignty through civic regenerative agroforestry and the creation of social enterprises. Cabarete Sostenible is a platform for community-led sustainability and redistributes access to economic opportunities by bringing the power of the food systems back to local hands. Our groups partner with this innovative non-profit and learn about their work, then get their hands dirty working within their programs to support our local community.
Build
If we build it…we will learn more and more about ourselves. Cambio offers a range of work projects that revolve around building templates, designed to bring our groups and partner communities together. These are organized in advance, so our team hits the ground running, but they also include community members hired sustainably to be part of enhancing their homes. Our guests are not expected to be structural engineers, just open to participating to the best of their ability and being part of a lasting, meaningful project that will bring us all together.
