Our team has over 20 years of experience introducing thousands of youths to the Dominican Republic and its beauty through nonprofits, and this knowledge allows you to focus on your participants, your goals, and the trip at hand. As educators, we understand and recognize that special spark when a young person makes a self-discovery. So often, that comes from learning something new and being introduced to something that settles in your heart forever. How did we get here?

As Cambio Trips founder, I was a child who grew up listening to his father tell stories of sketching temples during a Fulbright year in India, doing performance art on stage in Japan, and having adventures in all the corners of the world. As an educator, he still maintains these trips defined who he is and the lessons he taught.
My own journey has allowed me to live and teach in 5 different countries, experiencing my own adventures, fueled by my unwavering dedication to non-profit work and humanitarian causes. My core mission has been to learn, listen, experience, make connections, and make sure I have a story to tell my son someday.
One of the most transformative experiences in my career was my last role, a 20-year career in non-profit leadership and hosting more than 150 groups. Throughout this time, I channeled my energies into developing trips and projects that changed perspectives, nurturing that fascinated boy who couldn’t hear enough about the world. I have always been dedicated to making a positive impact. I had the privilege of creating, building and leading one of the first Global Service Programs operating in the Dominican Republic. We started with a modest number of school partners and no marketing budget, but through determination, word of mouth, and hard work, we turned it into a globally recognized operation. This transformation had a profound effect, touching the lives of tens of thousands of children, youth, and communities, but more importantly, guiding visiting youth through the transformation from a simple participant to a global citizen. The invaluable lessons I gleaned from this journey now enable me to assist students, educators, parents, schools, non-profits, for-profits, and similar organizations in crafting trips that make change, both in the lives of our partners and the communities we exchange with.
Our heart and soul! Our guides are the heart of what we do and they are the finest hosts on the island. Their smile is the first thing you encounter upon arrival and their energy, passion, and love for their country and communities are contagious. I have the privilege of waking up each day, working with people who inspire me, and offering these adventures and learning experiences to the next generation. At Cambio, you are truly our guests and we take pride in being your host. More often than not, we introduce our guests to our homes, our family, and where we grew up. These connections are personal to us and sharing them is special, which is one of the biggest differences in our approach to hosting our new friends (yes, you again!).
